From London Stansted Airport

By car, join the M11 motorway going north. Follow the "Directions for South and East Approach" shown above to Cambridge.

There are three public transport options:

The best option is to take the train from "Stansted Airport" to "Cambridge". Then take a taxi or the bus.

Alternatively, take the coach (long-distance bus) to Cambridge centre. See the link below. Then take a taxi or the bus.

Going by taxi direct from the airport to The Gate Lodge is possible, but is very expensive.

From London Heathrow Airport

By car, join the M25 motorway and travel clockwise to the M11. Follow the "Directions for South and East Approach" shown above to Cambridge.

There are two public transport options:

One option is to travel direct by coach (long-distance bus) to Cambridge centre. See the link below. Then take a taxi or the bus. This option has the advantage of ease and probably lower cost. It also runs throughout the night. The disadvantages are the waiting between departure times and London's M25 motorway traffic in the rush hour.

The other option is to travel from Heathrow on the London Underground to either Kings Cross mainline train station or Liverpool Street mainline train station and take a train to Cambridge. From Cambridge train station take a taxi or the bus. This might be more expensive. Cambridge trains will be crowded during rush hours with people travelling to and from London. Might be quicker than the first option if there is a long wait for the next coach.
